A non-for-profit supporting women in building new lives after leaving family violence situations, Next Steps Australia was in the process of a rebrand when the question was asked; “How do we visualise the private scenes and activities of these families, without using real or stand-in people?”

Cue the illustration route. By illustrating these quiet and life-changing moments for the mothers and their children, a system was built with a mix of drawn characters and collaged fabric to appropriately share the contributions of Next Steps Australia to their new lives.
